The leading national insurance brokers' association was seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive at a time of turbulence and regulatory pressure in the industry. The individual appointed was previously Chief Executive of a national intermediary company.



The principal risk managers' association was seeking to replace its retired Chief Executive. The search identified an individual who had extensive international experience and had been Chief Executive of an engineering company in Japan.



The leading professional body in the financial services arena was looking to a major gear change by the appointment of a new group marketing and sales director. An extensive search within and outside the industry resulted in the appointment of a professional from a major outsourcing company.



Heads of enforcement, scrutiny and monitoring were appointed through search for a major regulatory body.

 

Not for Profit/Public Appointments

Chief Executive searches have been completed in respect of a hospital/healing centre requiring a leader with consultant experience in palliative care; a long established Society concerned with publishing of Christian literature; a Mission concerned with work among the disadvantaged of London.



Support was given to a leading federation of 7000 churches from 50 denominations in respect of their Chief Executive appointment and that of two further directors.



A search on behalf of a theological college seeking a new head of administration and bursar - the former came from industry and the latter from an educational institution in South Africa.



A boys' independent boarding school commissioned a search to replace a retiring Head. This was part of a repositioning programme for the school. The appointed candidate had been a Head elsewhere.



Working with No 10 Downing Street, the Partnership was appointed to search for the Crown appointment of First Church Estates Commissioner.   The individual appointed was a high profile public figure with heavyweight leadership experience in the communications and financial worlds. 


Others

Searches were carried out for six Non-Executive directors in the energy field for the new settlements company and the public panel at the centre of the supplier, distributor and consumer market for the UK.



A global entertainment group commissioned a search for a head of risk management to coordinate and optimise its international insurance and risk management operations. The appointed individual was a high profile leading practitioner in the market.



A search was carried out for a major international engineering group, following a corporate restructure and review of its risk management, for a new head for its global insurance operations. The appointed individual came from a leading global insurance broker.


Multiple Assessment and Psychometrics

A financial services company with a new chief executive, as part of a repositioning and culture change, was seeking to assess and develop the management skills of the entire senior management team, amounting to approaching 100 individuals. This involved:          

  • building the competence model and behavioural criteria
  • training independent assessors
  • managing the process including psychometric exercises
  • conducting the feedback and follow up interviews, leading to self-development action plans



A programme along similar lines was devised for a high-tech engineering company.
